大阪メチャハピー祭は「踊りを通した青少年健全育成」を目的に２2年目を迎える団体です。祭りは大阪城ホールをメイン会場に開催され、古川橋や枚方、大阪ビジネスパークでも会場を設け、２～３千人の踊り子が参加する踊りの一大祭典です。大きな特色としては、選ばれた人やダンスを習っている子だけではなく、練習さえすれば誰でもが大阪城ホールで踊ることができる、という所でしょうか。
Osaka Mecha Happy Festival is an organization whose aim is to promote healthy youth development through dance. Every year they hold dance events around Osaka and Hirakata.
In 2019 over 3,000 dancers were in participation for the live event held at Osaka Jo Hall. Performances included cheer dance, traditional Japanese Yosakoi, and Soran bushi, and a high school brass band.
However, in 2020 due to the coronavirus, the festival could not be held as usual in Osaka Jo Hall. Instead, it was held online through a live youtube streaming event.
This year for the first time students from Dance Republic Osaka signed up to participate in the event!
We faced a lot of challenges trying to learn new dances during the stay at home order.
But our students and parents never gave up. We started lessons online till it was safe to hold live lessons.
Later it was so wonderful to see everyone again after such a long time. The students and teachers worked extra hard to catch up on the time we lost.
All the hard work paid off as students gave an energetic performance that made all of us so proud.
Students received a special award from the judges and a keychain.
Next year we will participate again. This time it will be even better than before.
